Equality...LOVE that!

Image
We at GG! are so excited by the flurry of same-sex weddings in California.  It has been moving and exhilarating to see the pure joy on couples' faces as they finally say "I do!" Three cheers for equality and LOVE! As couples begin to plan the weddings they have always dreamed of, we offer some inspiration with a look back at two gorgeous weddings with different styles and many wonderful personal touches. With a fabulous backdrop of sea and sky, Valerie and Sue's wedding at the Adamson House was simple and elegant, studded with a riot of fall colorsmagenta, poppy, copper, wine, violet and peachfrom the stunning florals atop the cake and scattered on the grass to the brilliant sequined linens on the tabletops. It was a true celebration of love and family, perfectly capturing the couple's warmth, joy, sense of adventure and excitement for the future. The Makings of A Great Event and Wedding Design

Image
By Pauline Parry Months before The Special Event in Phoenix this January 2011, a group of creative partners gathered at Good Gracious! Events one morning to brainstorm our wedding design contribution to the Wedding Gallery. We were represented the Wedding Industry Professionals Association (WIPA) of which we are members and so had a little more pressure to work as a team than if we were just doing this ourselves. It was bold, fun and ripe (sorry for that cheese pun) with design opportunity! From there the team k...

LET THEM EAT CAKE!

Image
Wedding Styles Posted by Desire OK, so not the most original of titles but totally appropriate for what I'm going to share with you. Of course that phrase --let them eat cake -- was allegedly uttered by Marie Antoinette, one of the original fashion doyennes, and it's been a hot topic for years ... did she say it or not? So, in her spirit, here are some examples of how Good Gracious! Events has kept the connection between high style and cake alive, delicious and beautiful. DRAMA + FONDANT Drama meets fondant! This cake in yellow and lighted by a chandelier hanging from the trees matched not only the bride's color palette but also the elegant style of this outdoor wedding. Yellow was the color ... Elegance was the theme. AN OCEAN OF COLOR We called this award-winning wedding Oceans of Love because it took place in Malibu overlooking one of the most famous Pacific Ocean spots in California. But it could easily have been called Oceans of Color for the five spicy hues the weddi...
