Destination Weddings: Palm Springs

Image
Wedding Styles By Desire Recently I was in Palm Springs for a walk through with an amazing couple that is getting married at the Korakia Penisone in the fall.   And while I was in town I had the pleasure of visiting a few other fabulous properties.   While taking in the swanky details of each location I realized how amazing Palm Springs is for weddings.   Where else in Southern California do you have almost perfect weather all year round and are just far away enough from the major surrounding cities that you feel like you've just reached a desert oasis?   Every location in Palm Springs has its own style, whether it is bohemenian, modern, or old Hollywood glamour.   Here are three venues that I wanted to share as they all offer that something special and an incredible setting, where you can create your signature wedding celebration. Korakia Penisone : Bohemenian Chic Hyatt Regency Suites Palm Springs : Desert Modern Viceroy : Old Hollywood Glamour Along with a...

A Year Has Gone By.... The REAL GG!

Image
By Aaron Kaniecki Believe it or not a year has gone by since my arrival here in the United States. So much has happened on both a personal and professional level in such a short space of time. Personally, I arrived, lived with my aunt/boss Pauline Parry, saved up and bought a car three months in, moved into a friends house, and learned how to live the American way Professionally, I have traveled to Washington DC, Arizona, Kentucky and Las Vegas to name a few, I have worked on events for 1500 people down to 10 people, I have been to some of the most amazing hotels and locations southern California has to offer, and also been to some of the smallest houses. The events industry is massive, and a party can be thrown at any place at any time it just takes planning. As for my time in the office, I have seen some changes take place. I was sad to see some people leave, yet excited for the prospects of the new people arriving. I have got to know and relate to all of my new colleagues, even ...

MORE THAN AN INVITATION!

Image
Wedding Styles After the proposal, the excitement, the sparkle and the sharing with family and friends it is then Let the Wedding Planning Begin.  You have selected your planner, determined a date and selected the location for this wonderful occasion and the fun begins! The invitation is an essential part to the celebration and completely sets the tone for your wedding in addition to providing all the necessary details to your guests. It should convey what the overall ambiance will be, if the wedding is going to be casual or formal, the wedding invitations should reflect it.  If there is a specific style or theme, this is ideal time to begin to make it your own wedding.  Keep in mind there are a variety of invitation options to choose from and you can be INSPIRED to create a style, a color, a monogram and any other design details that will bring your wedding vision alive. It is always quite wise to send a Save the Date card so guests can mark their calendar....

Specialty Beverage Stations & Signature Cocktails

Image
For the LOVE of cocktail hour! Wedding Styles There are a plethora of classic cocktails and other trendy mixed drinks out in the world, so it's no surprise that couples are opting for a signature drink or specialty beverage station at their wedding.  Or of course, the traditional bar offering various liquors and wine and beer, which works just as well.  However, having this just adds another personal touch on their special day.   Couples have nicknamed mixed drinks, chosen cocktails that match their wedding colors, or have a love for a specific beverage.  Limiting the amount of beverages can also help lower the costs for your beverages. Here are just a few of our favorites... A little Bit of Bubbly It can be as simple as adding an edible floral garnish or customizing mini bottles  of champagne with the couples monogram. The Beer Aficionado Creating a micro brew bar can let your guests experience a variety of different local breweries,  in Cal...

Tabletop Design

Image
Inspired by wooden tables, shades of honeysuckle, and touches of lace... Wedding Styles   Last week our creative team designed a showcase tabletop for the Wedding Industry Professionals Association 's (WIPA) March meeting at the Vibiana in Downtown LA.  We wanted to design a tabletop that could be glamorous, yet light hearted and playful for a daytime reception.  As we continue to see the trend of wedding receptions during the week or in the morning on the weekend.   And with spring around the corner, bright colors are beginning to "spring" back into weddings.  And what better color palette to design with then this year's "IT" colors honeysuckle.  Along with one of the bridal industry's most timeless and traditional fabrics, lace.        Starting with a large oval feasting table ( Rrive Works ), each place setting was layered with oversized lace placemats, cerise chargers ( BBJ Linen ), and bone china ( Classic Party Rent...

Awards, Inspiration, Education, Recognition and Ironing.

It was that time of year again, time to pack up, go to Vegas, and take on the worlds largest catering conference; Catersource and Event Solutions. As you may or not know, I applied for a scholarship through the ICA, and was successful! The ICA sponsored my gala tickets, education package, and money towards travel and hotel. Needless to say I was delighted to have been given such an opportunity! The Conference was held at the new Cosmopolitan hotel, which was jaw dropping. Or as Joanne said it was sexual They had amazing led displays, mirrors everywhere, sleek modern furniture, and that was just the lobby! The rooms were just as impressive, with nice firm mattresses, Samsung widescreen televisions. Then you had the bathroom; the shower was a room in itself! A huge black tile shower with great pressure, and a tall full-length window that showed into the bedroom. Thats right, a window into the shower from the bedroom. Creepy? Luckily there was a blind, but it was on the bedroom sid...

It's All About Blueberries and Lavender...By Michelle Nowak, Event Producer

Image
A beautiful day it was indeed! GOOD GRACIOUS! welcomed guests at Vibianas courtyard terrace in downtown LA for the March WIPA meeting. (Wedding Industry Professionals Association) . Since Pauline Parry, just happens to be president of the association, 2 years running, it was only fitting for us to sponsor and produce this beautiful event to kick off the year in Southern CA. As we contemplated design elements, and how we could put our Good Gracious! touch on such an exciting event, it dawned on us spring is in bloom and so are lavender and blueberries! And it really became All about blueberries and lavender! Our talented and creative mixologist Dan Smith had been working on his concoction for weeks now just trying to get it perfect for the big day! So we gave it a name "Lavender Botanical Bliss", a colorful rim of crystalized sugars, and even included a minature bottle of Square One Botanical Spirit and the recipe so guests could take home. We served a variety of hors ...
